When it comes to determining their bridal look, most brides focus on things like the latest celebrity icon (hello Sofia Richie!), trending styles on TikTok, and bestsellers at Sephora to gain inspiration and direction. While those are definitely essentials to keep in mind, when it came to her incredible wedding in Lake Como, Ashley focused on a slightly less trendy but equally important factor to ensure she looked her best: the weather.

With an expected forecast of 90+ degrees throughout her entire wedding week, Ashley knew she had to put a little more thought into her hair and skin routine to ensure both could handle the heat. First up was a Brazilian blowout from Stacy at Beauty Bar and Salon to combat the humidity- which did double duty as an insurance policy to guarantee effortlessly perfect hair throughout the honeymoon. After following a carefully designed six month plan from colorist Courtney at Kinloch Salon, her luscious locks were equally as vibrant as they were sleek.

Next up was a shopping trip with Eve (Ashleys friend and INCREDIBLE Makeup Artist) from Eve’s Picks for makeup that wouldn’t melt off. From concealer to lip gloss, she created a perfectly curated arsenal of makeup that would create a natural glow for a full week of wedding looks. She worked with Nicole Caroline Skin for facials and a custom skin care regimen throughout her engagement, with appointments every 2-3 months for LED therapy and non-filler facials. At home, she utilized Le Mieux perfect renewal pads, hydraulic acid, vitamin c, and lots and lots of moisturizer to create a beautiful canvas for those incredible products.

With a plan for the high temps in place, Ashley turned up the heat in the gym. Steve and Ashley joined F45 to train (cute), and she jumped on her Peloton as frequently as she could. She shares that she didn’t follow a strict diet and simply ate everything in moderation, including ice cream. After hearing for years that brides should cut carbs / go keto / intermittent fast / blah blah blah, we absolutely love this healthy mindset.

For the big day, Ashley kept the heat in mind and opted for an effortless, timeless face and an up-do. A soft bun let her dance all night without worrying about sweaty hair all over her neck (not cute). The best part of her look was that hair and makeup lasted all night- in fact, she shares how happy she is that she didn’t do a second look: “My hair stayed perfectly and I maximized my time to enjoy the day and night.” She highly recommends doing trials, and finding a look that resembles who you are. We absolutely agree!

Regardless of the heat wave, Ashley “ABSOLUTELY loved” having a destination wedding. She loved the intimate feel, and the unique experience of being with her closest friends and family in a foreign country. It also let her extend the celebrations, spending time with her friends and family throughout the week rather than just the wedding day itself. With Ashley’s suggestion to “do what you want” in mind, we might just start googling flights to Italy. Ciao!
